Maid of Honor Speech 3
Im in favor of plenty of short speeches, because they inevitably lead to plenty of toasts. So Im on my feet for two reasons: Firstly because my very dear friend has made a beautiful bride, and I want to say so, and secondly because it gives me the chance to add to the toast count.
______has been a great friend in so many ways. We've had a lot of fun together, and she's always been there for me when things were tough. We've come to know one another so well, that we have an understanding that goes beyond words.
We don't judge, and we don't have to explain. So, when it happened, _____didn't really have to say much to make it clear to me that Gilles was The One. All the signs were there... the special looks ... the way her face would light up when he was around.
And in due course there were the bigger changes to their lives as they became a couple. It all felt right as it happened, it all feels right today, and I know that the life they have ahead of them will feel just as right as it does today. All in all, ___ and ____, I can see you both making a success of everything you do together.
With one possible exception: I don't know just how much progress _____ will be able to make in her efforts to teach _____ to cook meals and do housework while she's off to work. It's been a lifetime of him Mom taking real good care of him. ______, help him to grow up..please!.
And I don't know how far ____ will get in persuading his bride ways to spend less time at the mall. The drain on your wallets will be disastrous considering they both like to shop..
Not that it matters.
All we need to know is that these two people have already become comfortable with one another. And that they're excited to be in each other's company.
And that tells me that they have the foundation for a wonderful marriage: not just lovers, but lifelong friends as well.
I am ecstatic for both of you. You truly complement one another. You met as friends and it evolved into a love that so many people rarely find today. Love after all, doesnt make the world go around
Love is what makes the ride worthwhile. And its a wonderful thing when two people who were made for each other manage to fall in love. So Id like to make a toast. And Id like to make it with this thought in mind: If there is such a thing as a good marriage, it is because it resembles friendship rather than love. So this is to you, _____ and _____, and a wonderful life together. Ladies and Gentlemen, to friends, lovers and soul mates.
