Maid of Honor Speech 4
Ladies and Gentlemen, I don't want to say a lot today, but I do want to say one or two very important things. _____ has been a great friend in so many ways.
We've had a lot of fun together, and she's always been there for me when things were tough. We've come to know one another so well, that we have an understanding that goes beyond words.
We don't judge, and we don't have to explain. So, when it happened, _____ didn't really have to say much to make it clear to me that _____was The One. All the signs were there... the special looks ... the way her face would light up when he was around.
And in due course there were the bigger changes to their lives as they became a couple. It all felt right as it happened, it all feels right today, and I know that the life they have ahead of them will feel just as right as it does today.
All in all, ____ and ____, I can see you both making a success of everything you do together. With one possible exception: I don't know just how much progress ____will be able to make in her efforts to teach _____ to make his own food..
And I don't know how far Harold will get in persuading Rebecca ways to spend less time shopping...look out, your credit card is in trouble. Not that it matters. All we need to know is that these two people have already become comfortable with one another.
And that they're excited to be in each other's company. And that tells me that they have the foundation for a wonderful marriage: not just lovers, but lifelong friends as well. Emily Bronte wrote some words that I think are apt here. She said: Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. _____and _____, your souls ARE the same. You make a perfect couple, you truly deserve each other, and I know You WILL both have a long and happy life together. So ladies and gentlemen, I would like to offer a toast: to my wonderful friend _____, her perfect husband ____, and true love.
